French Student Traineeship Program
Information for Maltese Companies
Apart from the business and networking events, the Maltese French Chamber of Commerce strongly believes that promoting Malta to the French is through the youths. To achieve this, our aim is to offer French students work placement opportunities here in Malta in order for them to learn more about our country and our businesses, whilst at the same time supporting them in improving their business competences and English language skills.
French students at university level must undergo several traineeship periods, which must be validated through presentations, where they give detail on the tasks and activities carried out throughout their work placements. One of these traineeships is to be carried out compulsorily in an English speaking country and many choose to experience Malta. These traineeship periods vary in duration but the minimum period is 12 weeks.
These students seek to discover Maltese companies and the way we do things but they also seek to bring a valuable contribution in areas such as sales support, marketing (such as carrying out market surveys or communication campaigns), managing or assisting in projects, organising events and follow up, researching on import/export possibilities, translating of business documents to French, coordinating the updating of company websites, working in the front/back office and other tasks related to their studies.
The Maltese French Chamber of Commerce makes the process of recruiting French students for a short period virtually hassle free. We take care of all communication and arrangements, including airport pick-up and accommodation, prior to the student’s arrival to Malta.

Information for French students
The Maltese French Chamber of Commerce offers a service to students seeking a traineeship in Malta.
Our service consists of:
- Support you in finding a traineeship in a company here in Malta,
- Assisting you in finding accommodation in Malta, be it in shared apartments, studio flats, host families, hostels, etc.
- Giving you all necessary information to help you prepare for your trip to Malta
- Pick up from the airport
Conditions:
- We give preference to students who are looking for a traineeship longer than 3 months. The longer you are willing to stay the more chance you have to get a traineeship.
- We cannot guarantee 100% finding you a traineeship especially during the summer months of July and August
- The Maltese French Chamber of Commerce does NOT offer any company lists of Maltese companies.
